Located on a hill overlooking Somes Sound (a natural glacial fjord), you will enjoy an unbelievable view of Sargent and Parkman Mountain at Deer Track. Nestled in the woods among cedar, pine and birch trees, is perfect for those who are looking for a quiet area that is centrally located to all major towns, beaches, mountains, restaurants, and shops. This cabin is perfect for 2 people, but can accommodate more with a futon for extra sleeping. On chilly evenings, cuddle up with a propane fire in the granite fireplace. The large deck provides extra seating for relaxing, reading, or just enjoying the gorgeous sites of Somes Sound. For those traveling with a dog, the deck railing close off to make a “puppy playpen”, allowing your dog the freedom of being outside, without being tied.

Even with the pandemic problems, Mimi and Rick were the best hosts on the planet. Extended our usual one week to two this year and will be back next year for another two.
Thank you Jacquie and Tom. Looking forward to next year!
“Easily the best way to enjoy Mount Desert Island. The cabin is spacious and cozy for 2 and doesn't lack a single amenity - actually there was much more than anticipated. The views are stunning and enjoyable from every angle of the cabin. The location is amazing--on the quiet side of the island but a short drive from Bar Harbor and the park. Makes it so easy to enjoy the surrounding area while providing a peaceful retreat. I can't say enough about the host, Mimi. She is extremely generous, and her efforts make the place feel like home. We went for Acadia, but stayed for the Deer Track bungalow.” ~ Conor McArdle via Airbnb
A real hidden paradise on the quieter side of Mt Desert island (to stay away from the crowds of tourists in Bar Harbor). The cabin is really cozy for 2 people and has one of the best deck/view situations you can imagine! Host was really kind and helpful. Best hiking we did was just 5 mins away on Acadia/St Saveur mountains; the vistas are breathtaking. Would go back in a heartbeat; thanks for looking after us! ~ W, Gerbert via VRBO
